Leaf Bingo is a fun game to play on a walk around your area.
Before You Go

You can find out about what shape the leaves of different trees are here. These are mostly for trees that grow in the UK, but if you look online there are lots of sheets for other countries too. There are also some great apps for your phone – including this free one for trees commonly found in the UK from the Woodland Trust.
Discover the Wild also have some great identification sheets by season for plants, insects, fungi etc so you can identify all sorts of things that you find on your walk!
Leaf Bingo!
Go to a green area – ideally a park or woodland, but anywhere with some trees and plants will do.
Walk around and identify / collect as many different leaves as possible. (Try and avoid picking green leaves off the trees, use only what is on the ground), marking them off on your sheet as you go.
What are the main ways you can identify a particular tree or plant from its leaves? Size? Shape? Colour? What is your favourite leaf you found? What do you like about it?
