The Rule of the Game requires super listening and observation skills. Will you be able to guess what rule everyone else is abiding by?
How to play
Choose a volunteer to leave the gamespace.
Everybody else sits in a circle.
People in the circle decide on what is to be the rule of the game.
Call the person outside back into the gamespace. They then ask people in the circle questions, and listening and watching carefully for the answers they have to try and guess the rule.
Rules can be things such as — answering with your feet off the ground, crossing / uncrossing your legs while answering, giving an answer starting with the same letter of the alphabet as your own name, answering as if you were the person on your left, etc.
Special Notes
Make sure that people know what they are volunteering for before they go out — some players will love being on, relishing the challenge, others would hate it.
Take it further
This is taken from the book Games, Games, Games, a publication with around 250 group games. The games are essentially co-operative in nature and develop skills and attitudes which encourage learning together and supporting one another.
If you enjoyed playing this game in your group, you could also try playing Spanish Omelette.
