The arms business has a devastating impact on human rights and security, and damages economic development. Large scale military procurement and arms exports only reinforce a militaristic approach to international problems. Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) works towards ending the global arms trade. Part of CAAT’s approach increasingly includes interrogating how the arms trade is connected to other issues. They support fighting issues around policing, borders and migration, climate justice, struggles against racism, gender inequality, capitalism and colonialism.
In this session, find out more about these key issues and how organisations such as CAAT are working to disrupt militarism. Led by CAAT’s Training & Events co-ordinator, Siana Bangura.
